Free financial literacy fair in Downtown Honolulu

The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs announced a free Financial Literacy Fair on Wednesday, April 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Tamarind Park in Downtown Honolulu.

As part of Financial Literacy Month in April, the DCCA Office of the Commissioner of Securities is putting on an exhibitors fair to provide free information on financial investing, services and programs to the public.

Go to the annual Financial Literacy Fair and visit exhibitors who will provide free educational materials on managing income, buying a home, checking credit reports, saving for retirement, investing in the market, paying taxes and protecting your finances from fraud.

"The exhibitors at this fair are trusted nonprofits and agencies dedicated to helping consumers," Commissioner Chan said. "There will be a lot of materials to help you manage your finances. We hope the exhibitors' information can help consumers feel less overwhelmed by financial worries."

Exhibitors will offer free financial literacy information to the general public. In addition to the Commissioner of Securities' Investor Education program, volunteer exhibitors include the following:
