HONOLULU -

The state held the Financial Literacy Fair on Wednesday at Tamarind Park in Downtown Honolulu.

The goal is to help you hang on to your money.  Non-profits and agencies like AARP Hawaii and the Better Business Bureau were there with valuable advice.

"Check to be sure that your investment advisor or your broker dealers are registered with our office.  That's a really important part," said Investor Education Specialist Theresa Kong Kee.  "And when you are investing your money, you want to watch it to make sure not only are they watching it, but you are also watching and protecting it."

Organizers hope that those who attended left with more tools to help make wise financial decisions.
