HONOLULU -- Honolulu resident Barbara Cox Anthony, 83, remains among the 20 richest Americans in the annual Forbes magazine 400 list.

Anthony and her sister, Anne Cox Chambers, who lives in Atlanta, are tied for 17th on this year's list with a net worth of $12.6 billion each.

The sisters are heirs to the Cox media empire.

Cox Enterprises owns 17 newspapers, 15 TV stations, 79 radio stations, cable systems, plus stakes in a used car auction and AutoTrader.com, an online classified site for vehicles.

This year, all of the Forbes 400 have at least $1 billion.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates remains No. 1 with $53 billion. Investor Warren Buffet is second with $46 billion.
