ATLANTA -- Someone who bought a lottery ticket in California is suddenly very wealthy. There is a single winning ticket for Tuesday night's $315 million grand prize in the latest Mega Millions drawing.Officials of the multi-state lottery said the winning ticket was sold in Anaheim, Calif. In addition to the grand-prize winner, 19 tickets matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. They're worth $250,000 each. Another 158 tickets matched four numbers, plus the Mega Ball.They're good for third prizes of $10,000 each. The winning numbers were: 2, 4, 5, 40 and 48.The Mega Ball number was 7. The grand prize now goes to an estimated $12 million for Friday night's drawing, officials said.Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
