Bankruptcy Judge Gives Hilo Hattie More Time
Companies Have Until July 15 To Develop Reorganization

HONOLULU -- A U.S. bankruptcy judge on Monday gave the parties hoping to run Hilo Hattie out of trouble more time to work on their plans.Royal Hawaiian Creations, which bought the troubled retailer's stock, and Maui Divers Jewelry had until Monday to deliver a reorganization plan to the judge.If either is not approved, the store could face Chapter 7 liquidation, which is a complete shutdown of the company leaving 200 people out of a job.The new plans are due on July 15.The store filed for bankruptcy in October and lost more than $3 million.
