Thousands Attend Blaisdell Job Fair

HONOLULU -- Close to 5,000 job seekers turned out Wednesday for a look at who is hiring at a the Workforce 2008 job fair at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.Boeing was there trying to woo former Aloha Airlines or ATA workers who want to stay in the business.The job fair is aimed at getting new graduates and those interested in switching careers or companies.
"The biggest thing about this job fair is its the biggest crowd of exhibitors we have ever had. We are at 240 and that's a record for us," said Beth Busch of Success Advertising.Admission to the fair was $3, not including parking.It was the second Workforce job fair so far this year. A third one is planned for September.
