Aloha Ticketholders May Lose Out On Refunds

Officials Say Credit Card Purchases Could See Money Back

Aloha Airlines' ticketholders are scrambling to get refunds as the company ends passenger services.

Travel agencies around the state were bombarded with calls the day after the company announced the closure from ticketholders.

State officials said that if you bought a ticket with Aloha using cash or check, you might be out of luck. If you used cash or check you can file a claim with bankruptcy court, but state officials said you may only get a portion of the money back.

If you used your credit card, they said that with your protection rights, you could get a full refund.

"Send your dispute to the credit card companies saying you didn't get your service, the company is no longer in existence or ceased operations, and you want a full credit on your credit card. In the past, consumers who have exercised their rights have successfully obtained full refunds," Director of Consumer Protection Stephen Levins said.

You have 60 days to make your case from the time you get your credit card statement.
