St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Albert Pujols went 3-for-4 with four runs driven in to lead the St. Louis Cardinals in a 6-5 win over the San Diego Padres in the third installment of a four-game set. Rick Ankiel and Skip Schumaker were responsible for an RBI apiece for St. Louis, which has won four straight games. Todd Wellemeyer (8-4) got the win as he went 6 1/3 innings and was touched for five runs on five hits. Ryan Franklin tossed two innings of scoreless relief to notch his 14th save. Edgar Gonzalez hit a three-run home run for the Padres, who have dropped five straight contests. Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff each had an RBI in defeat. Randy Wolf (6-10) took the loss as he was hit for six runs -- four earned -- on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings of work.

Final Score: Florida 9, Philadelphia 5

Miami, FL (Sports Network) - John Baker knocked in four runs and hit one of the Marlins' three home runs as Florida came away with a 9-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in the middle test of their three-game series at Dolphin Stadium. Cody Ross finished a home run short of the cycle, while Jorge Cantu went 4-for-5 with two runs batted in to help the Marlins snap a two-game slide. Jeremy Hermida and Dan Uggla each recorded a home run for the victors. Scott Olsen (6-4) threw the minimum five innings to pick up the win, allowing four runs -- three earned -- on eight hits and a pair of walks. The Phillies' Kyle Kendrick (8-4), who came into the game unbeaten in his previous four outings, lasted just 4 1/3 innings after being touched for seven runs on 10 hits. Pat Burrell went 3-for-5 with a double and two home solo home runs for Philly, which had won five of six coming into the game.

Final Score: Milwaukee 8, San Francisco 5

San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Prince Fielder put the Brewers ahead with a solo home run in the seventh and added an insurance RBI single in the ninth, as Milwaukee downed San Francisco 8-5, in the middle contest of a three-game series at AT&T Park. Rickie Weeks knocked in two runs while Corey Hart doubled twice with two runs scored for Milwaukee, which has won three straight. Ryan Braun added three hits and scored a run. Carlos Villanueva (4-5) picked up the win with 1 1/3 perfect frames. Jose Castillo, Omar Vizquel and Eugenio Velez had two hits and an RBI each for San Francisco, which has now lost eight of its last nine overall. Osiris Matos (0-2) took the loss. Brewers starter Ben Sheets went just five innings having surrendered four runs - two earned - on nine hits and a walk. Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez pitched well but ran into trouble and was pulled with one out in the sixth, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while fanning eight.

Final Score: Houston 4, Chicago 1

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Wandy Rodriguez was brilliant through 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball, as the Houston Astros topped the Chicago Cubs, 4-1, in the middle contest of a three-game series at Minute Maid Park. Rodriguez (5-3) allowed only a solo home run to Carlos Zambrano in stifling the Cubs potent lineup. The southpaw fanned seven and did not walk a batter on nine hits to win his third straight decision. Miguel Tejada was 2-for-4 with an RBI while Carlos Lee, Darin Erstad and Hunter Pence each had an RBI for Houston, which has won four straight. Zambrano (10-4) labored through 6 1/3 innings, surrendering four runs on six hits and a season-high six walks. The right-hander had three strikeouts and helped himself with a solo homer but snapped a two-start win streak. Ryan Theriot was 3-for-4 in a losing cause, the only multi-hit effort for Chicago, which has dropped three straight.

Final Score: Washington 8, Atlanta 2

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Willie Harris went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs batted in, John Lannan threw six solid innings, and Washington dominated Atlanta, 8-2, in the second of three games with the Braves. Lannan (6-9) allowed just one run on seven hits, walked three and struck out four as the Nationals snapped a three-game losing streak. Lannan pick up his second win in as many starts, and over his last three outings has given up just four runs in 18 innings. Cristian Guzman finished 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI, while Paul Lo Duca had two hits and two RBI for Washington. Jair Jurrjens (9-5) took the loss after surrendering five runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 frames, though he walked just one and struck out five. He has alternated wins and losses over his past four starts for Atlanta. Greg Norton homered, while Gregor Blanco went 3-for-5, as the Braves had a three-game win streak halted with the loss.

Final Score: Cincinnati 7, New York 2

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Joey Votto went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in, highlighted by a two-run triple, as the Reds downed the New York Mets, 7-2, in the third game of a four-game set. Josh Fogg (2-2) held the Mets to two runs -- one earned -- on eight hits in six innings, with one strikeout and one walk. Adam Dunn had an RBI single and scored twice for the Reds, who have cooled the Mets on back-to-back nights, and have won five of seven. Oliver Perez (6-6) was touched for three runs -- two earned -- on six hits in six frames, with six strikeouts and three walks to take the loss for New York. Pedro Feliciano gave up four runs on three hits while recording just one out in the seventh, when the Reds pulled away. David Wright went 3- for-4, homered, and scored twice for New York, which has dropped two straight in Cincinnati after winning 10 in a row.

Final Score: Colorado 7, Pittsburgh 1

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Garrett Atkins and Omar Quintanilla had two RBI apiece to back Jorge De La Rosa's superb pitching effort, as the Colorado Rockies dominated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1, in the third installment of a four-game series. Scott Podsednik was 4-for-5 with two runs scored while Brad Hawpe added three hits, scoring once with an RBI for the Rockies. De La Rosa (4-5) kept the Pittsburgh bats in check throughout his six frames of work, limiting the Bucs to one run on seven hits and two walks, while fanning seven. Colorado has won the first three games of this series after entering the All-Star break on a four-game skid. Yoslan Herrera (0-1) lasted just 1 2/3 innings and was pounded for seven runs on eight hits in his second major league start. The inexperienced right-hander is filling in for an injured Phil Dumatrait. Freddy Sanchez was 3-for-4 with a run scored while Ryan Doumit provided the lone RBI for Pittsburgh, which has dropped four straight.

Final Score: Arizona 3, Los Angeles 2

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Dan Haren threw seven innings of shutout ball, and the Diamondbacks staved off a late Dodger rally, as Arizona clipped Los Angeles, 3-2, to take over sole possession of first place in the NL West. Haren (9-5) allowed just four hits while striking out seven and walking two batters in his time on the hill. Brandon Lyon earned his 20th save of the year despite giving up two runs on three hits in the ninth. Chad Tracy and Stephen Drew each had a hit and an RBI for the D'Backs, who are 3-3 over their last six contests. Conor Jackson added a solo homer in the win. Chad Billingsley (9-9) took the loss as he lasted 5 2/3 innings and was touched for the three runs on seven hits. Jeff Kent hit a solo home run in the ninth, which was his 1,500th career RBI, for the Dodgers, who are 2-4 over their last six games.
