I got engaged to my now husband at last years Merrie Monarch and we were married in December. This is the first year ive missed Merrie Monarch in the last 6 years. Im watching this year from "Askabar,Iraq"...and im loving the competition especially the Maui Halau's..Aloha, Racine Richards.

I am writing from Las Vegas I wish I was there this event makes me miss home more. I am originally form the island of Maui from Ka Olapa me Ko Laua Hula Halau. We as halau have made the journey to Hilo a couple of times to enjoy the Merrie Monarch in person I hope to be home to particiapate possibly in the 2011 Merrie Monarch festivities.
