I'm watching Merrie Monarch from Victoria, BC at my computer and I just realized I'm wearing my red and white flannel hibiscus jammies. Very silly! It was more fun last year, getting to watch from Edith Kanaka'ole stadium. Wahoo!Thank you so much for the livestream. I just wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. 2:00am is a bit rough! We now reside here in Las Vegas but were both born and raised in Keaukaha...no matter where we watch it, we are honored to have some of the best halau's return to our hometown of Hilo every year. This year we have Sheldeen Haleamau's halau from Las Vegas entering, so we'll be watching and rooting for or 9th island sisters. E Hula Mau!!
It doesn't matter where this is being watched. (Kona) The best performance I have ever seen was just done by Miss Emata. She is one extremely talented young lady. Watching her took me to the times past when this was the way of the land.
