KANEOHE, Hawaii -- Actress Michelle Rodriguez pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to driving under the influence when she was arrested in December.Rodriguez plays "Ana Lucia" on the ABC hit TV series "Lost," which is filmed on Oahu. She's accused of driving drunk last December in Kailua along with co-star Cynthia Watros who was following in a separate car.The judge gave Rodriguez the choice between five days in jail and 240 hours of community service. The actress chose to go to jail. She begins her sentence on Tuesday afternoon. She will serve only four days more because she already spent one day behind bars during her arrest.Watros pleaded guilty in January. Because Watros had no prior criminal record, the judge sentenced Watros to 14 hours of substance abuse counseling and ordered her to pay more than $500 in fines and fees.Rodriguez was also ticketed in October for driving 90 mph in a 35 mph zone in Haleiwa. Records show she also did not have auto insurance.Rodriguez said prescription medicines she was taking to deal with allergies she suffered from while on the islands made her act "manic.""I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. And, I'm kind of glad they stopped me because if I would have kept taking that, I would have had serious nerve damage," she said. "I'd stay up late at night. I'd get my period three times a month. I was 'manic.' What I mean by that is I'd be a little bit paranoid, shaky, nervous energy, just testosterone enhanced, jumpy."Deputy Prosecutor Sean Sanada wanted Rodriquez sentenced to the maximum of 14 days in jail because of a string of prior run-ins with the law. In California, she had a DUI conviction and an arrest for a hit-and-run. In Hawaii, she had three speeding violations in three months plus bad mouthing the officer who arrested her for her second DUI.The Rodriguez case has fueled rumors that her character will get killed off the show."I say watch the show and find out for yourself," she said.
