A fire that damaged a bathroom at Kaiaka Beach Park appears to be intentionally set, according to Honolulu fire officials.
Fire crews responded to the call around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the park off Haleiwa Road. The fire was brought under control just after 2:30 a.m.
The structure suffered significant damage, mostly to the roof. Fire officials say the blaze was intentionally set and began in one of the stalls. The damage is estimated at $100,000. No one was injured.
The case has been turned over to detective at the Honolulu Police Department, who will continue the investigation.
