DOH Has 2 More Probable Swine Flu Cases
Test Samples Sent To CDC For Confirmation

HONOLULU -- State health officials said Wednesday that they are investigating two new potential swine flu cases.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week confirmed three cases in Hawaii. The three patients recovered at home from the swine flu, or H1N1 flu, officials said.Two of the cases are adults. One of them recently traveled to Texas. The other became ill after exposure to their spouse, health officials said. The third separate case is a school-aged child who traveled to California. The child did not attend school while ill, health officials said.The state Health Department is sending specimens from two adults on Oahu to the CDC. The CDC is expected to have the results of the laboratory tests within the next two days.The health department said the two adults are recovering from their illness. They stayed home from work once they got sick, officials said.Health officials are conducting extensive interviews with those who may have come into contact with the two infected people.
