12/5 - Free Hazardous Waste Disposal

On Saturday, December 5, Oahu residents will be able to dispose hazardous materials at the City and County of Honolulu's hazardous waste facility from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Residents should call the City's Household Hazardous Waste Information Line at 768-3201 to make an appointment. Appointments are required and can be made up to Friday, November 27. Only small quantities will be accepted from each household. Larger quantities may be rejected or incur a fee.

The following are some of the items that will be accepted at the waste facility:
  • Acetone
  • Arsenic
  • Boric Acid
  • Fertilizers
  • Formaldehyde
  • Gasoline
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • Insecticides
  • Kerosene
  • Lead
  • Lighter Fluid
  • Mercury
  • Paint Stripper
  • Paint Thinner
  • Photo Chemicals
  • Rust Remover
  • Solvents
  • Swimming Pool Chemicals
