There are a number of really good brands of veggie burgers. At Down To Earth you can choose from Gardenburgers, Amy's California Burgers, and I really like Maui Taro Burgers.
Ingredients: 1-2 TBS olive oil 1/2 Maui onion, sliced into thin rounds 3-4 cloves of garlic, sliced thin 2 veggie burger patties 2 whole grain hamburger buns sliced soy cheese for garnish sliced tomato for garnish lettuce leaf for garnishSpecial Sauce:
2 TBS veganaise (healthy mayo) 2 TBS ketchup 1 tsp Dijon mustard chili paste to tasteInstructions:Heat oil over medium high heat and sauté the onions. As they start to caramelize, add garlic and continue until very lightly browned. Set aside.
If they are frozen, you can toast the veggie burger patties in a toaster, then add to pan to brown slightly. Assemble the burgers by adding sauce to buns, then the veggie burger patty, caramelized onions and garlic, soy cheese, lettuce and tomato. Enjoy.
