I demonstrated this homemade pizza crust from scratch -by hand- instead of a bread machine. It really is pretty easy to do.

Crust:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp yeast 2 tsp olive oil 1 tsp salt 1/2 cup waterDirections: - Combine all ingredients and form into dough. Knead on a flat surface for 5 minutes, using your palms to stretch and fold the dough.
- Place in a large bowl, covered, in a warm place for 20-30 minutes.
- Form into ball, then press down with fingers to make a rounded flat shape.
- Roll with rolling pin to desired thickness and size. (This should be enough dough for 1 medium size pizza. Double the recipe if you want to make 2 or one very large.)
Topping: 1/2 to 3/4 cup store bought jar of spaghetti sauce 2 TBS olive oil 1/2 yellow onion, cut into thin rounds 2 cups white mushrooms, sliced 1 portabella mushroom, cubed artichoke hearts, cut into quarters Kalamata olives Grated soy cheeseDirections: - Saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Add mushrooms and saute until they get soft and begin to release liquid.
- Place the dough on a pizza pan, sprayed with cooking spray.
- Spoon the spaghetti sauce on to the dough to form a thin layer.
- Add the cooked mushrooms and onions. Top with artichoke hearts and olives, then grated cheese.
- Cook in 500 degree oven for about 12 minutes until crust is browned and crisp on the edges.
