Tip: White Zinfandel

White Zinfandel is not a white wine but rather what is often called a "blush wine" in the United States and a "Rosé" or "Blanc de Noir" in France. It's made from Zinfandel, a red-wine grape, but it is kept pale in color by quickly removing the skins and stems from the juice after the grapes are pressed, which eliminates the transfer of color from the grape's dark skin. Most White Zinfandels are light-bodied and slightly sweet.
