Selling your home can be a big headache, but you could be making things harder than they have to be.
Asking too much. The single biggest mistake is setting their asking price too high. Take a look at the prices of other comparable homes for sale in your area. Failing to respond to all offers. Even if an offer is too low, do not outright reject it. You can't blame someone for testing the mark. See if you can negotiate with them.Picking the wrong buyer. Ask the potential buyer for a current pre-qualification letter for a loan. Avoid buyers who add a clause that the deal won't close until they sell their home. It is better to look for a buyer who has cash or has already sold their existing home.
