Roxanne St. Claire
Contemporary
High society Miss Celeste Bennett has just kicked fiancé No. 3 to the curb when, who should drive up looking better than a new set of Perelli tires, but heartthrob NASCAR champ Beau Lansing.
Celeste has something Beau wants bad -- he says a man's life hangs in the balance if she doesn't hand it over.
But before Celeste trusts Beau with any part of her, she decides to meet him on his own turf, where the life she's running from collides head-on with demons from Beau's past.
"Killer Curves" is refreshing because Roxanne St. Claire's great writing and storytelling make it so. The NASCAR race scenes are thrilling and gritty while characters' dialogue and conveyed emotions -- especially when drama runs high -- are nuanced and balanced.
