It is kind of ironic to think that even back in 1564m hopeful men considered "The Troubles" in Ireland a period that would be short-lived.

The brothers Riordan, strapping Irish lads all, set about proving their mettle against English oppression and the fiery lasses out to disprove the Riordan family curse that has kept the young men from settling down.

Riordan family friend John Black, featured in each novel, has his own chance at love in "Maid of Killarny," my favorite. I love a hero who's a little older and a lot wiser.

Ana Seymour is a talented writer who creates compelling stories, believable historical ambiance, and authentic, passionate sensuality for the lovers in each novel.
