The producer of a movie filmed in Hawaii delivered a generous monetary gift to Honolulu Community College on Monday.

Movie producer Roy Disney wrote a check for $40,000 to the Marine Education Center at Sand Island.

Disney used the center in the production of his new movie "Morning Light." The film documents a novice crew training for and sailing in the TransPac yacht race.

Disney donated the money to buy a new state of art three-dimensional router, which can be used in the construction of sailboats.

"The use of this stage and everything in the building, too was absolutely sensational and couldn't have been replicated anywhere that I know of. This really is a giant thing. To (University of Hawaii) and the community college and everybody was so good to us, so mahalo. Mahalo from everyone at 'Morning Light' and bring all your friends to the movie please," movie producer Roy Disney said.

The movie is in theaters now.
