KITV4 would like to introduce you to our in-house expert on "The Bachelorette," Lauren Wang. During the day, she works in our sales department, but on the nights when "The Bachelorette" is airing, she is glued to the television set. She will keep you up-to-date with the show and give you some inside scoops on what is happening with the Bachelorette herself, Emily Maynard.
Goodbye to Tony Pieper - 5/31/2012
I had the pleasure of talking to eliminated bachelor, Tony Pieper, this morning.
Tony is the bachelor that Emily sent home so that he could be with his son. I wasn’t sure how genuine he was, you know -- if he was playing the kid card as a pity thing so that Emily would keep him around.
But, I was so wrong. Tony was seriously a down-to-earth, nice guy. He really did miss his son and wanted nothing more than to just be with him again. He said that if Emily didn’t kick him off then he would have left on his own soon after.
Tony applied to be on "The Bachelor" on a whim and actually forgot that he even tried out! He got a phone call from the casting producers months after he applied and he was confused about what they were talking about. He then met with the producers and decided to go ahead and go for it.
Tony decided to leave his son and go on the show because he was thinking about the end result -- which could be falling in love and starting a family. He didn’t think that he would miss his son as much as he did but he is so happy to be back with him. He said a part of his heart is back (seriously, so sweet).
Tony was only on the show for three weeks, but in those three weeks, he said that Emily really is as sweet as she is portrayed and that she is a genuine and caring person. Going into it, he thought, this girl can’t be that nice BUT she really is (that’s so great to hear, TEAM EMILY)!
Tony liked all the guys on the show and was particularly close to Sean and Doug (he’s rooting for both of them). He even said that he liked Kalon (really? I didn’t think anyone did).
But, he said looking at the episodes now, he is seeing a different side of Kalon, and out of all of the guys, he might be the one in it for the wrong reasons (duh).
The only regret Tony had during his three week stint on "The Bachelorette" was that he didn’t give enough of “himself” to Emily. He only talked about his son and he should have told Emily more about himself. But, he knows that now and is still looking for love. So if any of you all are in Oregon, I would call him up!
He really does seem like a good guy. Who knows? Maybe he’ll be the next Bachelor (he said if the situation was right and he got the same treatment as Emily he would consider it)!
Stay tuned for next Monday’s preview and next Tuesday’s recap. Don’t forget to chat with me at #bachelorettehi! And all you single guys and gals, come to The Modern this Saturday to get your chance at LOVE! I’ll be there, make sure to come on and stop by!
Week 3 Preview - 5/28/2012
It looks like we are in for another exciting week!
Emily has dates with two of my favorite guys, Arie and Chris, but this Bachelorette is going to have to deal with a lot of drama on the side. Can she handle it all?
Let’s start off with a preview of her date with Arie. The two go to a carnival, where she gets to a see a different, more fun side of the stud (sigh, he really is perfect) and it looks like Dolly Parton will be performing for them that night as well.
I’m not a huge fan of her, but Emily sure is! I am anxious to see her first real kiss of the season (I’m a little jealous though, I’m not going to lie. She’s kissing my man ha ha ha!).
We will have to tune in to see if Arie gets the rose! If he doesn’t, then I will be the first person knocking on this door in Arizona!
Chris (bobble head guy) gets the other one on one date. He seems like such a sweet guy. I am curious to see what the spark will be like between the two. I think Chris is the type of guy that falls hard for girls and goes all in so I hope he doesn’t get his heart broken (sad face)! He reminds me so much of Chris Lambton from Ali’s season. I think America is going to fall in love with him! I am almost 100% sure Emily will give him the rose at the end of the date. I can’t wait to see if she does.
Last but certainly not least, let’s talk about the drama that Emily is going to deal with this week. She is going to have to deal with one guy crying about being away from his son. But is he just trying to score pity points from Emily or is he being genuine? And also one of the bachelors makes a comment about being a father to Ricky that doesn’t sit well with Emily. Who are these two bachelors? You’ll have to watch tonight at 8 p.m. on KITV4 to find out! And don’t forget to follow me on twitter, #bachelorettehi.
