KITV4 would like to introduce you to our in-house expert on "The Bachelorette," Lauren Wang. During the day, she works in our sales department, but on the nights when "The Bachelorette" is airing, she is glued to the television set. She will keep you up-to-date with the show and give you some inside scoops on what is happening with the Bachelorette herself, Emily Maynard.
The Inside Scoop on Eliminated Contest Joe Gendreau - 5/23/2012
I spoke with Joe early this morning about his short-lived experience on "The Bachelorette."
Joe seemed like a super normal nice guy (but sorry, he is NO Matthew McConaughey). I don’t think he was looking to get married or settle down right away which is the main reason he was sent packing.
He even said that the chemistry between Emily and him just wasn’t there and that they weren’t on the same page.
Joe said that he initially went on the show to get to know someone and hopefully start a relationship with that person.
Well, honey, you should know that at the end of this there is a proposal at stake, so obviously if you aren’t ready for marriage then you shouldn’t have been on the show.
He did admit that he never saw "The Bachelorette" before this and he said that we won’t be seeing him on the small screen anymore! Joe simply said, “Once was enough.”
Joe got along with all of the guys and he didn’t have anything bad to say about any of them (I say BLUFF, come on I’m sure you didn’t like someone)!
Even when he was asked about Kalon, he just said he wishes him the best and thinks that he’s a good guy (I really wanted some dirt on Kalon)!
I asked Joe who the frontrunner is this season and he surprisingly said… Jef! And why does Joe think Jef is the one? Because Jef seems very caring and they seem compatible, and oh, Jef supposedly is very financially stable! Joe’s other top picks so far are Arie, Sean and Doug.
I also asked Joe if he wishes he put up more of a fight when Emily sent him packing.
Joe said that he wouldn’t have fought for her to keep him there. He can respect when someone makes an emotional decision and she did what was best for her.
Joe is doing well since he left the show and is currently at a new job in Orlando, Florida.
One more interesting note -- he did say he only knew Emily briefly and that he didn’t develop ANY feelings towards her (ouch) but he wishes Emily nothing but the best!
Who will get sent home next? Stay tuned for next Monday’s new episode at 8 p.m. on KITV4 and tweet me at #BacheloretteHI.
Week 2 Preview - 5/21/2012
Yes, it's the first date of the season! And which lucky bachelor gets a chance at impressing Emily first? The dark, handsome stud, Ryan (the one who stole my heart when he held up his handwritten note).
It looks like this first date is going to be a little different than most. Not only will the bachelor be baking cookies but the "couple" will also be walking the "red carpet.
Hmmm... sounds cheesy. Photos of their first date have been leaked for months, but now we can actually see what went on and if the two hit it off or not. I am dying to see if Ryan will get a rose!
I don't know what to think of a group date being with the Muppet babies?! To be honest, the Muppet babies are kind of scary and I really don't like puppets at all (but that's just me, hahaha). [Editor's note: ABC is owned by Disney which owns The Muppets.]
Emily takes 13 guys with her on stage to perform with the famous Muppets. The men split up into two teams and the guys are in for a surprise visitor! Let’s see if these bachelors are able to turn on the charm with Miss Piggy and company!
Up next, another one on one date! Emily and Joe take a private jet to West Virginia (how lucky are they)! A romantic evening is planned for the two but can Joe prove to her that he's not just a funny, free spirited guy? Can he show her that he has a serious side too and that he is ready for a long term relationship and is he really ready to be a dad? Will he be convincing enough for Emily to give him a rose?
I am so looking forward to this week's cocktail party. All of Emily's guys seem super competitive so I know the party will be filled with lots of man-drama and lots of macho guy stuff (yes, bring it)! Guys can be such girls sometimes! At the end of the cocktail party, Emily will have to cut her nineteen men down to sixteen! That means three guys will be sent packing. Who will they be? Make sure to tune in tonight to find out! Also, make sure to tweet me throughout the show, #bachelorettehi and make sure to check back on kitv.com for my video recap on Tuesday!
