Federal Judge David Ezra ruled Wednesday that Kamehameha must allow Mohica-Cummings to attend the school while a lawsuit is fought in court over the admission of non-Hawaiians to the institution.

"I am a little bit worried, but as Judge Ezra said he expects Kamehameha to treat Braden as they treat anyone else whose attending their school. So I'm quite positive that he'll fit in very well," Santos said.

"Like my mom said, I make friends easy and I'm not worried about the press. I'm very brave," Mohica-Cummings said.

Officials at Kamehameha Schools said it has a policy against harassment. They said the non-Hawaiian student recently admitted to the Maui campus is doing fine and that there have been no problems reported. They said they're certain the same will hold true for Mohica-Cummings.

"I have tremendous confidence in our kids, they come from great families, along with our faculty, teachers and administrators, I don't believe there will be a backlash within the student body," Kamehameha Schools President Michael Chun said.
