UH Narrows Logo SearchOfficials Hope To Unify School's IdentityPOSTED: 1:43 p.m. HST April 23, 2003 HONOLULU -- The University of Hawaii released Wednesday its final two designs being considered for the schoolwide system.
Officials said there was confusion over the school system's identity because of more than 150 different logos being used by different departments at its 10 campuses.
The university partnered with The Brand Strategy Group to decide on a course of action. The company looked to focus on a particular branding.
After sending out the call for proposals, 14 design firms from Hawaii, California, New York and Maryland responded. After narrowing the choices through a number of processes, officials chose two.
