Miami answered with a nine-play, 47-yard drive, which ended with a 39-yard field goal by Parseghian.

But while the RedHawks were settling for field goals, the Bobcats continued to put the ball in the end zone. They extended their lead to 17-6 on a three-yard touchdown pass from Jackson to Terrence McCrae with 55 seconds to play in the half.

Parseghian added another field goal as time expired in the half, this time from 34 yards.

Miami cut the deficit to 17-16 on a 60-yard blocked punt return by Chris Givens early in the third quarter.

But on the second play of OU's ensuing possession, Jackson responded with a 51-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Price.

Parseghian kicked a 22-yarder to make it a 24-19 game at the 6:01 mark of the third quarter. But OU began to take control down the stretch.

Way knocked a 26-yard field goal through the uprights to give the Bobcats a 27-19 lead with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter.

Jackson threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Jayson White at the 9:39 mark of the fourth quarter, capping a 13-play, 52-yard drive that ate up 6:52 off the clock.

The Bobcats put the game away with just under two minutes to play, when Garrett broke loose for a 79-yard touchdown run.

The RedHawks managed their final score on a 15-yard pass from Raudabaugh to Chris Givens in the final seconds.

OU's running game was virtually unstoppable, as the Bobcats churned out 326 rushing yards and an average of 8.4 ypc.
