Hawaii's Bess To Skip Senior Season

(Sports Network) - University of Hawaii junior receiver Davone Bess will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.

The three-year starter finished his career as the school's all-time leader in receptions (293) and touchdowns (41). He finished this season with a team- leading 108 receptions for a single-season school record 1,266 yards with 12 touchdowns.

"This is an opportunity I felt I couldn't pass up," said Bess. "It's been a dream of mine to play in the National Football League and I've worked hard these past three years to get to this point."

For his career, Bess tallied 3,610 receiving yards, 3,877 all-purpose yards and 250 points. He caught a pass in all 39 games he played in and was the nation's active leader in receiving touchdowns.

Bess and the Warriors capped a 12-1 season by finishing as outright WAC champions and earned the school's first-ever Bowl Championship Series game appearance against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
