Salt Lake City, UT -- (Sports Network) - Carlon Brown scored 22 points to lift the Utah Runnin' Utes to a thrilling 68-67 triumph over the Utah State Aggies in a non-conference battle of state rivals.

Luka Drca posted 11 points and six assists for Utah (1-1).

Jared Quayle racked up 27 points and 11 rebounds in defeat for Utah State (1-1). Tai Wesley scored 14 points, and Nate Bendall finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies.

Utah State led 29-26 at intermission after limiting Utah to 34.5 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

The Runnin' Utes were much more efficient in the second half, as they connected on 51.9 percent of their field goal attempts to claim the win.

Utah forced 17 turnovers, a major reason it was able to overcome a 38-27 rebounding disadvantage.
