Palo Alto, CA -- (Sports Network) - Landry Fields poured in 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Stanford Cardinal handled the Cal Poly Mustangs, 70-53, at Maples Pavilion.

Drew Shiller chipped in 11 points and five rebounds for the Cardinal (1-1), who opened the season with a 77-64 loss to San Diego on Friday. Jack Trotter and Jarrett Mann each had 10 points. Mann also had five assists for Stanford, which shot 41.9 percent from the field.

Lorenzo Keeler had 15 points for the Mustangs (0-2), who started the season with a 73-62 defeat to San Francisco on Friday. Justin Brown tallied 11 points while Will Donahue ended with 10 points and 12 rebounds for Cal Poly, which hit just 38.6 percent of its shots from the floor.

The Cardinal started the game on a 12-1 run and carried a 32-23 lead into halftime. Cal Poly was within six early in the second, but Stanford soon built its margin to double-digits and it remained that way for the final 15 minutes.
