NCAA Game Summary - San Jose State At Utah State

(Sports Network) - Jared Quayle scored 21 points to lead the Utah State Aggies to an 89-77 victory over the San Jose State Spartans in a Western Athletic Conference tilt at the D. G. Smith Spectrum.

Quayle also grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists for Utah State (27-4, 14-2 WAC), while Pooh Williams added 17 points and six boards. Tai Wesley, Gary Wilkinson and Tyler Newbold each tallied 13 points in the win.

Adrian Oliver netted 20 points for SJSU (13-16, 6-10), while Robert Owens registered 18 points off the bench. Chris Oakes posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds, while DaShawn Wright chipped in 10 points.

The Aggies went into the break with a 43-27 advantage, thanks to a 47.1 percent shooting effort, which included a 9-of-18 clip from behind the arc.

Utah State continued its strong play in the second half, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor, while also netting 14-of-16 shots from the foul line, en route to the 12-point win.

The Aggies made 12-of-23 shots from behind the arc in the contest, while SJSU netted just 5-of-12 three-point shots.
