NCAA Game Summary - Appalachian State Vs. St. Francis-NY

Washington, DC -- John Quintana scored a game-high 22 points
in leading the St. Francis-NY Terriers to a 68-63 victory over the Appalachian
State Mountaineers in the consolation game of the Red Auerbach Colonial
Classic. Quintana finished the game 7-of-17 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the foul
line, but also accounted for seven turnovers. Mike Wilson added 19 points for
the Terriers (1-2), while Devon Neckles pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds. Johnathan Mitchell paced the Mountaineers (1-4) in defeat with 15 points and
eight boards. Ahmad Smith recorded a double-double in the losing effort, with
12 points and 10 rebounds. St. Francis-NY shot a solid 48.3 percent from the floor in the first half,
opening up a 10-point lead at the break. In the second stanza, the Terriers converted 17-of-23 free-throw attempts, as
they held on for a five-point victory. St. Francis-NY hit on 43.1 percent of its total shots, while holding
Appalachian State to just 37.5 percent shooting from the field.
