NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana Tech At New Mexico

POSTED: 8:41 pm HST November 21, 2009

(Sports Network) - Darington Hobson scored 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the New Mexico Lobos to an 81-52 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as part of the World Vision Basketball Classic in The Pit.

Also scoring in double figures for the Lobos (4-0), as they remained undefeated on the season, were Phillip McDonald and Nate Garth with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Although he shot just 3-of-9 from the floor and finished with six points, A.J. Hardeman made an impact with a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs (2-1) were paced by Olu Ashaolu who registered a double-double himself with 10 points and 10 boards, while Jamel Guyton and Kyle Gibson both deposited 11 points in the losing effort.

Both teams had a tough time shooting the ball from the field in the first half, yet even 33.3 percent by UNM still allowed the team to take a 33-28 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Lobos exploded for 64.3 percent form the field, including 5-of-8 behind the three-point line, en route to the easy 29-point win.

The Lobos won the battle of the boards, 49-33, and also held LaTech to just 29.7 percent accuracy from the floor and a miserable 5-of-27 behind the three- point line.
