NCAA Game Summary - George Washington At UNC-Wilmington

(Sports Network) - Aaron Ware scored 16 points, leading four players in double figures, as the George Washington Colonials captured a 76-71 win over the Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington in non-conference action at Trask Coliseum.

David Pellom and Tim Johnson both tallied 11 points for the Colonials (1-0), while Tony Taylor logged 10 points and half of the unit's 10 assists on the day.

The Seahawks (0-2) were led by Keith Rendleman who registered a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds before fouling out. Montez Downey accounted for 15 points and Chad Tomko another 13 off the bench in the setback.

George Washington missed its only three-point try of the first half, while UNCW knocked down 7-of-15 beyond the arc in the frame to claim a 41-32 lead at the break.

In the second half the Seahawks made a total of only seven field goals, allowing the Colonials to fight back and grab the five-point decision on the road.

The Seahawks hurt themselves with just 17-of-29 shooting at the free-throw line and a total of 20 turnovers on the day.
