Springfield, MO -- (Sports Network) - Kyle Weems scored 23 points to lead the Missouri State Bears to a 72-55 victory over The Citadel Bulldogs as part of the Hispanic College Fund Classic.

Caleb Patterson tallied 13 points for Missouri State (3-0), which got 10 points from Nafis Ricks.

Joe Wolfinger scored 18 points in defeat for The Citadel (2-2), while Cameron Wells contributed 12 points.

Missouri State held a 26-25 lead at intermission despite shooting a lowly 30.8 percent from the floor in the first half.

The Bears connected on a much more efficient 62.1 percent of their field goal attempts over the final 20 minutes, allowing them to cruise to victory.

A key to the victory for Missouri State was that it committed only eight turnovers.
