White, Gordon Lead No. 13 Hoosiers Over Cougars

POSTED: 4:39 pm HST December 29, 2007

(Sports Network) - D.J. White had 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Chicago State Cougars, 97-59.

Eric Gordon scored 22 points for the Hoosiers (11-1), who have now won seven in a row.

Jordan Crawford chipped in with 15 points and snagged eight boards for Indiana, which will travel to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes on January 2.

David Holston had a game-high 25 points for Chicago State (4-12). Holston didn't get much help as the next highest scoring Cougar, John Cantrell, tallied only 11 points.

Chicago State's next chance to snap their four-game skid will be on January 2, when the Cougars will take on Eastern Michigan.

Indiana opened the game on an 11-0 run, which was polished off by an Armon Bassett dunk with 17:59 left in the first half. The Hoosiers then increased that lead to 17-3 on a Gordon trey with 16:16 remaining in the half.

An 18-3 run put Indiana up 35-9. White capped the onslaught with a three-point play with 8:15 left in the first. The Hoosiers went into halftime up 48-19.

The second half was all Hoosiers as Indiana opened up a 39-point lead on a DeAndre Thomas layup with 10:21 remaining in the game. The Cougars never regained composure and failed to pose another threat, as Indiana cruised to their 11th win of the season.
