Santa Barbara, CA -- (Sports Network) - James Nunnally scored 20 points, and that includes a three-point basket as time expired, giving the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos a thrilling, 76-75 victory over the Long Beach State 49ers in Big West Conference play at The Thunderdome. Chris Devine added 15 points for UCSB (15-14, 8-8 BWC), while Jesse Byrd contributed 13 points. Stephen Gilling netted 23 points for LBSU (15-14, 10-6), while Donovan Morris T. J. Robinson posted 17 and 16 points, respectively. The 49ers shot 50.0 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes of play and went into the break with a 36-31 advantage. The Gauchos fought back in the second frame, shooting 56.0 percent from the floor, en route to the one-point victory. UCSB shot 51.0 percent in the contest, and forced Long Beach State into 21 miscues.
