Irvine, CA -- (Sports Network) - Eric Wise scored 20 points to lead the UC Irvine Anteaters to a thrilling, 78-72 overtime victory over the UC Riverside Highlanders in Big West Conference play at the Bren Events Center.

Chad DeCasas added 16 points off the bench for UCI (11-18, 7-8 BWC), while Kevin Bland tallied a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. Patrick Rembert contributed 11 points in the win.

Kyle Austin posted a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds for UC Riverside (16-11, 7-7), while Javon Borum tallied 20 points in the loss.

The Anteaters shot 46.2 percent from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 29-24 edge.

The Highlanders stormed back in the second stanza, shooting 48.0 percent from the floor, but the Anteaters were able to force overtime thanks to a Michael Hunter three-point basket that tied the game at 62-62 with 28 seconds remaining in regulation.

In the extra session UCI shot 60.0 percent from the floor and also connected on 8-of-10 attempts from the foul line en route to the six-point win.

The Anteaters' bench tallied 24 points in the game, while Riverside's reserves posted just eight points.
