NCAA Game Summary - Buffalo At Wichita State

(Sports Network) - The duo of Ramon Clemente and Clevin Hannah scored 14 points apiece to lead the Wichita State Shockers to an 84-73 victory over the Buffalo Bulls in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational Tournament at Charles Koch Arena.

Hannah dished out eight assists as well in the win for Wichita State (17-16), while Toure' Murray notched 12 points to go with seven rebounds. Graham Hatch and J.T. Durley tallied 10 points apiece as well for the Shockers.

Rodney Pierce scored 17 points to lead Buffalo (21-12) in the win, while Greg Gamble registered 12 points to go with six assists and Max Boudreau checked in off the bench to contribute 12 points and six rebounds in the losing effort.

The Bulls were held to a mediocre 37.9 percent from the floor during the opening frame, enabling Wichita State to take a commanding 45-29 lead into the break.

The Shockers then buried a blazing 68.2 percent of their attempts from the field in the second stanza to earn the 11-point win.

The Shockers advance to face the Stanford Cardinal on Monday.
