NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas-Pine Bluff At Oklahoma

POSTED: 11:25 pm EST December 2, 2003

De'Angelo Alexander led all scorers with 19 points, lifting No. 14 Oklahoma to a 94-24 demolition of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Kevin Bookout chipped in with 14 points, Jason Detrick 13 and Jabahri Brown 12 for the Sooners (4-0), who face a much stiffer test against fifth-ranked Michigan State in their next game on Saturday.

Billy Hall led the Golden Lions (0-4) with six points. Arkansas-Pine Bluff turned the ball over an astonishing 41 times in the contest and has now lost by at least 20 in all four of its games this season. All four contests have been on the road.

This game was over in a matter of minutes, as the Sooners scored 13 of the first 15 points before continuing to pad their lead and blow open the game. Detrick's dunk less than seven minutes into the contest made it 13-2.

After Hall hit a jumper for the Golden Lions, Detrick made a pair of lay-ups and a free throw to spark a 10-0 run, helping extend the margin to 23-4.

Oklahoma went into the locker room with a 48-9 advantage, holding the Golden Lions to a measly 31 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff's struggles continued in the second half and they were outscored 46-15, still struggling to shoot the ball. After hitting only 31 percent of its shots in the first half, things got worse when they shot just 16 percent in the final 20 minutes.

Game Notes:

The last time the teams met, Oklahoma posted an 81-52 win in 1997...Golden Lions guard Chris Parker finished 0-for-5 from the floor with eight turnovers...Brown posted a game-high nine boards...Hall was the only Arkansas player to hit more than one field goal. He finished 3-for-6 from the field.
