(Sports Network) - Sylvester Seay scored a team-best 16 points and pulled down six rebounds to help lead the Fresno State Bulldogs to a 62-58 win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the first round of the 26th annual Western Athletic Conference Tournament at the Lawlor Events Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the ninth-seeded Bulldogs (13-20) were Dwight O'Neil and Mychal Ladd with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Nedeljko Golubovic chipped in six points and a game-high 11 rebounds as well.

The eighth-seeded Warriors (13-17) were led by Roderick Flemings with a game- high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor, adding seven boards and four assists, while Kareem Nitoto checked in with 15 points and six boards in the setback.

Both teams had trouble shooting the ball from the field in the first half, yet despite making just six total field goals in the period the Bulldogs still trailed by only five at the break, 28-23.

In the second half FSU erupted for 51.9 percent from the floor, including 5- of-10 behind the three-point line, to capture the four-point win.
