    UPDATE - Due to an earlier concrete spill on the H-1 Freeway, the planned transportation of an eighty-ton transformer was delayed. According to Hawaiian Electric Crews the transformer has just left its Ewa Nui substation in Kapolei to the Pukele substation in Palolo Valley. Drivers should expect delays, arrival time is expected to be at 2PM. Because of the weight of the load, the vehicle has to travel at most 15 mph on the roadway, and about five mph across bridges.

    WAIKELE - Clean-up crews continue to work between Kunia and Waikele on-ramps after a concrete block fell off of a cement truck this morning around 7:45AM. Three left lanes added heavy traffic to the usual east-bound morning commute so the zipper lane remains open for use including single-occupant vehicles. The clean-up is estimated to be finished by 12PM. Expect delays and drive with caution.

Expect delays and drive with caution. An alternate route could be Palani Avenue onto Date Street and returning to Kapahulu Avenue.

    NUUANU - HPD are on scene of an accident where an overturned vehicle remains on the Pali Highway in the Kailua bound direction. Also a second accident was confirmed, not associated with the first but is in the Honolulu direction. Drive with caution and expect delays.

Traffic on Kalakaua Avenue is being routed around onto Phillips Street and Punahou Street. Expect delays around the area (Washington Middle School and Jack in the Box) and utilize alternate routes.

    PUNA, HAWAII - The state's dropping the speed limit on a main highway in lower Puna. Now, it's 25 miles per hour on one portion of Highway 130 - also called the Keaau-Pahoa road. The state says it's a safety measure, because it put steel plates over the cracks caused by the volcanic activity. Highway 130 is now the only route for some residents of lower Puna, after Highway 137 closed last Saturday.
