Hawaii: Cash For Appliances Rebate Program

Hawaii is offering a rebate program this spring to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with energy-efficient models.The state will offer mail-in rebates toward the purchase of Energy Star-qualified appliances. The program, run through Hawaii's utilities, is already in effect for the islands of Hawaii, Lanai, Maui, Molokai and Oahu.Rebates available for residents of those islands are as follows:
- Ceiling fan - $40
- Clothes washer (limit 1 per household) - $50
- Dishwasher (limit 1 per household) - $50
- Refrigerator (limit 1 per household) - $50
- Window AC unit - $75
- Ductless split air conditioner - $110
- Central air conditioning maintenance - $50
- Refrigerators -- Feb. 1 to March 31
- Clothes washers -- May 1 to June 30
- Dishwashers -- Aug. 1 to Sept. 30
