Veggie Chicken Broth

Get these spices at the bulk food section at Down To Earth. You can measure them as you buy- no waste, no measuring when you make a batch of powdered broth to have on hand!This is a quick broth powder that is low in sodium and has no MSG. Most commercial broth mixtures contain MSG with hidden names like "Autolyzed Plant Protein" or "malt extract." All the ingredients for this broth mix are found at the spice or bulk food section at Down To Earth. You have to measure them and label them yourself, but they are not expensive.Ingredients:
1.5 cups nutritional yeast flakes (This is yellow yeast found in bulk food bins at Down To Earth)
3 TBS onion powder
2 and a half tsp garlic powder
1 TBS salt
1 tsp celery seed
2.5 TBS Italian seasoning
2 TBS dry parsley
Directions:
Put all ingredients in a blender and make a fine powder. Store in airtight container.
Mix 1 TBS of this mixture for 1 cup of water.
It makes a great soup base, and can be used in any recipe that calls for chicken broth.
