Hundreds Of Former Students Turned Their Tassles This Morning

Hundreds of college students turned their tassels at this morning's graduation ceremony at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

A total of 750 undergraduate students finished up the fall academic semester and many also finished up their time at the school.

Some will continue on with their higher education, while others are ready to start their careers after reaching this important milestone.

"It's a huge deal, thankful for everybody, family and friends its been a long journey I'm thankful for everybody that has helped me out. I'm proud myself and my friends here, its been great," replied Mason Tansey, a newly graduated UH student.

"I'm a little worried like everybody else, there is not a lot of jobs out there but I've applied for a couple of jobs and I'm waiting to hear about a couple of interviews," said graduate Nanea Lindsey.

More than 450 students earned master's, doctorate degrees and post-baccalaureate certificates in secondary education.

UH Manoa Alumnus Henk Rogers, entrepreneur and video game visionary was today's featured commencement speaker.
