Kaio-Campbell had been deemed a hero just two months prior to the crash for saving the life of a drowning woman in Makapuu. But now the men could be facing prison time if convicted.

"This young boy will live with this for the rest of his life. The family who lost their loved one will live with this for the rest of their lives. So there are no winners in this case," said Green.

Murray remains free on bail. Kaio-Campbell is being held at OCCC, unable to post his $75,000 bail.
