Occupy Honolulu protesters are now occupying the sidewalks around Thomas Square after the city came in late Thursday night and drew up new boundaries.

The rules state that no one is allowed to remain in city parks after 10 p.m.

Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, protesters were told to leave.

Honolulu police came through the camp and ordered the protesters to start breaking down.

Two people were arrested. One of them was a woman who refused to move her things and leave the park.

The protesters have been part of a national movement rallying against big business and government which they believe cater to the richest one-percent of the U.S. population.

Occupy Honolulu had taken over a corner of the park since November 5.

Other than the two arrests overnight, police said the majority of the protesters were cooperative.

City officials said they will inventory the items confiscated from the group and give them notice when they can pick it up. If they don't pick it up within 30 days, the items will be thrown away.

Chris Smith, one of the Occupy Honolulu protesters, said, "(The city) created a mess on their own sidewalks and they created a mess financially when it could have been peaceful for everyone."
