Super Bowl XLIV Saints Finally Break Through After trailing the Indianapolis Colts for the entire first half, the New Orleans Saints took the lead briefly in the third quarter and then scored again with less than 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter to take a 24-17 lead. During Peyton Manning's ensuing drive into New Orleans territory, Tracy Porter intercepted a pass for the first takeaway of the game and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown, basically sealing the 31-17 victory for the Saints, who won their first title in the team's first Super Bowl appearance.
