Travis Murray faces trial in the death of an 11-year-old boy who died after his family's vehicle was hit.
One of two men charged with manslaughter in the death of an 11-year-old boy turned himself in, Honolulu police said.
Public safety officials and the prosecutor's office say Herbert Kaio-Campbell turned himself in at Halawa Prison Thursday afternoon. His bail was set at $75,000.
Kaio-Campbell and Travis Murray were racing on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo in July of last year, prosecutors said.
The car driven by Kaio-Campbell hit another car turning into a driveway, authorities said. The impact killed Samuel Kassebeer.
Police have not yet located the other man charged in the case.
