The Makaha Resort in West Oahu will close at least temporarily on October 31.
In a letter to the state Labor Department Wednesday, the resort said it "has decided to temporarily halt business operations, due to financial reasons."
The letter specifically calls this a "temporary closing."
The resort says 95 employees will likely lose their jobs. The 173-room resort is owned by Northwynd Resort Properties of Canada.
Emails to Northwynd and the resort were not returned.
