"Just the fact that nothing has been done is kind of telling me that it's kind of stalled," Pang said.

The community is gathering for a meeting on the Koko Crater erosion on Thursday. Neighbors said they are simply looking for reassurance they will be safe as the erosion of the mountainside continues.

"It'd be nice if there was a barrier up there of some kind," Lee said.

"Stop it before anything else happens, because if it crumbles and it falls into houses, it's too late," Kidani said.
